Angel Hair Pasta with Garlic, Herbs, and Parmesan

Angel Hair Pasta is a delicate pasta that can be hard to cook with. It is very tender, fine, and is smooth on the tongue. Preparing the pasta properly can be a bit of a hassle if you don’t know how to do it. What if you just have a few ingredients left in your fridge and a ton of angel hair pasta for dinner? Well, for those days you want to prepare something easy and filling. Here is the recipe to do it!

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces angel hair pasta
  • Salt
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp finely chopped fresh herbs such as rosemary, thyme, oregano
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 3 cloves of garlic, sliced
  • 1/8 teaspoon chili pepper flakes (or more to taste)
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:

  • Get a large pot and add some water to Bring it up to a boil. You also want to add one tbsp. For every two quarts of water.
  • In a saucepan bring it up to medium heat. Add the olive oil, parsley, sliced garlic, finely chopped herbs, and chili pepper flakes. Cook everything for one minute. When the garlic becomes fragrant, take the saucepan off the stove.
  • Add the angel hair pasta to the boiling pot of water. Allow the pasta to cook until it reaches desired consistency. It usually takes angel hair pasta to finish cooking between 2-5 minutes. Once done be sure to drain the pasta. Rinse it with some cold water, but not so the pasta becomes cold itself.
  • Toss the angel hair pasta into a large bowl. Add the herb garlic sauce you made earlier. Combine it all together, so the angel pasta is completely coated. Be sure to sprinkle the Parmesan cheese on the top and a little bit of freshly ground black pepper for tastes. Toss it all together to combine once more.
  • Serve the angel hair pasta while it’s still hot. It can also be reheated if you make it ahead of time and store it in the fridge. Just mix it up after reheating to make sure all the flavors mix.

This recipe is quick, delicious, and easy to make. Its simplicity makes it less of a hassle to prepare than other pasta recipes. At the same time, you can make little variations get a different taste of this dish every time. Instead of olive oil you could use butter for a creamier taste. If you want the dish to have a bit more substance to it, you can also add some shrimp or succulent crab meat. You can even add in small cubes of chicken if you’re planning on serving this pasta dish for dinner.
