7 Sweet And Savory Pie Dishes To Try At Home

One of the exciting seasons to bake a pie is in Springtime. There is something about a warm pie in the spring. Now is the perfect time to load up on sweet things to eat. The iconic American pies needs it’s crust though.  Baking the pie’s crust may take months, maybe even years of practice and if you want, you can buy a pre-made crust, while still learning how to make it, for now.   Here are 7 sweet and savory pie dishes that will go great with a cold glass of milk, or your favorite dessert wine.

Healthier Chocolate Banana Cream Pie

Peanut butter has always been a great source of iron.  Mix it with some fruit and cereal and you’re on your way to a great desert. The difference is that this one is healthier than a regular chocolate cream pie, because of the fruit.  What you’ll need is 6 tablespoons of peanut butter, 1 tablespoon of honey, 2 cups of rice-crispy cereal, 2 bananas, 1 small package sugar-free chocolate pudding mix, 2 ½ cups of 2 % milk, and 1 tub of  low-fat whipped topping.

Mix peanut butter with honey; then mix in cereal. Press in pie plate with metal spoon, building up the edge. Slice banana over crust, then mix pudding with milk and spread over bananas.  Top with whipped topping only trace amounts of sugar.
