Quick Meals to Satisfy Your Picky Child

Kids can be a bit…picky in what they like to eat. Some like to only eat chicken. Another child may refuse to eat any green vegetables. How can you make sure your child eats healthy food when they are a picky eater? Well, here are a few quick, simple easy meals for your child.

Breakfast

Milkshake

Throw in milk, fruit, and ice in a blender to give to your child. It’s fun, healthy, and yummy! And it helps them have a good start to their day.

Parfait

Don’t buy the big parfaits they sell. They can sometimes be to sweet and not at all healthy. Instead make your own with some yogurt, your fruit of choice, and to add some more fun to eat maybe throw in some granola. Children are sure to love this extra tasty treat in the morning. The granola adds an additional crunch which is sure to satisfy even the most pick of children.

Lunch

Sandwich shapes

This one is easy. If you like to give your child sandwiches when they go off for lunch invest in some cheap cookie cutters. Then your child’s sandwiches are magically transformed into stars, dinosaurs, and heck even little men if you want.

Cereal Bars

Cereal is a good snack for children. Maybe they like something a little sweet in their day. Take some small marshmallows, about half a handful and place in a bowl. Stick the bowl in the microwave and heat up for about twenty seconds. Check the marshmallows, and continue to do this in intervals until the marshmallows are melted. In add in about a cup of cereal and mix marshmallows and cereal together in the bowl. Voila! You now have the power to make cereal bars from your child’s favorite cereal!

You can also use this trick to make your own granola bars as well.

Dinner

Burritos/Tacos

Get the children involved with your cooking. Set out fat free tortilla wraps along with some healthy ingredients like chicken, avocados, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese. Let the children make their own food and design their own burritos or tacos. If you want to have guacamole instead have the children smash the avocados so they’re nice and creamy. This way everyone gets involved with the process.

Stir Fry

This one is very easy. You can add almost any vegetables you want into a stir fry. With just some chicken and a few choice vegetables you can make a dish that rivals all the colors of the rainbow. You can use broccoli, green beans, red peppers, green peppers, and even lettuce. You can also use a whole number of other vegetables and well. And even let your child pick some of these new interesting vegetables out to help them get involved in the process.

We know it can take children a long time to get used to new foods. By following these tips they can eat new foods in fun and exciting ways.
