A Unique New Site for Wine Lovers - Tastevine.com

By User Imagesimplesahm | December 23, 2007

I spent much of the day yesterday looking for the perfect wine to pair with the prime rib we are having for Christmas dinner.  Personally, I love a light (not too dry) red wine.  I also have a tendency to enjoy wines that are well out of my beer budget.

I was pretty excited this afternoon when I learned about this site, "Tastevine.com".  On the very first page of the site you can simply click through the characteristics you are looking for in a wine.  I picked red...tart...& light and the search results showed me a variety of Shiraz wines from all over the world.  Ironically, I've always been drawn to a good Shiraz, yet I never really knew why I preferred them over Merlots or Cabernets.

For those of you who love to cook and entertain, you can use the site to pair a great wine with whatever meal you are serving.

As I said earlier, I love red wine...but I have a beer budget right now.  That's the second thing I loved about this site.  The wines in my result page cost anywhere from $10.00 to over a $1000.  I almost gasped when I saw that one of the first wines that was chosen for me cost $1100.  I knew I had somewhat expensive taste...but WOWSA!  So, I modified my searched and looked simply for wines in the $10.00 range.

From there, you can read reviews of your chosen wine or find places to order online.  You can also learn more about wineries around the nation (and world) and read the daily blog
